Broken spring, snapped cable or an opener that quit? R&Y Garage Door Repair covers every Pflugerville neighborhood from downtown to Lake Pflugerville, usually the same day.
R&Y Garage Door Repair is a family-owned garage door company based in Taylor, TX, about 25 to 30 minutes from Pflugerville via SH-130. The team repairs and replaces springs, cables, rollers, openers and panels, installs new residential and commercial doors, and handles emergencies 24/7. The owner, Rene, is on most jobs himself.
Everything a Pflugerville garage door needs, from a same-day spring fix to a full new door, handled by the same local team.
Broken springs and cables are the most common Pflugerville call. R&Y replaces standard torsion springs, extension springs and enclosed TorqueMaster-style systems, and can convert an aging enclosed system to standard torsion springs when that is the better long-term fix. The door is then balanced and tested.
Openers that hum but do not move, reverse for no reason or stopped pairing with remotes are repaired when it makes sense. When it does not, R&Y installs quiet belt-drive or smart openers from LiftMaster, Chamberlain or Genie and sets up the myQ app.
Steel, insulated, wood-look, carriage-style and full-view glass doors, measured, delivered and installed with new tracks and weatherstripping, then balanced and tested with the opener before the crew leaves.
One dented section does not always mean a new door. When a matching panel is still manufactured, only that section is replaced. Doors that jumped the track are realigned and the cause, often a worn roller or frayed cable, is fixed too.
A door stuck open at night or a car trapped inside cannot wait. R&Y takes emergency calls in Pflugerville 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including weekends and holidays, and explains what is safe to do while the technician is on the way.
Overhead doors for shops, warehouses, offices and storage buildings in Pflugerville: spring and cable repair, opener service and preventive maintenance that keeps business doors working.
Pflugerville grew fast in the 2000s, and many homes from that period share the same builder-installed door systems. That is why the same repairs come up again and again:
| Neighborhoods | What R&Y sees most | Worth checking |
|---|---|---|
| Older homes near downtown Pflugerville and Windermere Mostly 1980s–1990s |
Extension springs, worn tracks and rollers, openers 20+ years old. | Doors installed before 1993 may lack the photo-eye safety sensors required on openers sold since then. |
| Blackhawk, Falcon Pointe, Avalon, Springbrook Mostly 2000s |
Original torsion springs, including enclosed TorqueMaster-style systems, frayed cables, openers 15–20 years old. | Enclosed spring systems break without the obvious gap of a standard spring. A door that suddenly feels very heavy or will not lift evenly is the main sign. |
| Newer neighborhoods near Lake Pflugerville and SH-130 2010s–today |
Sensor misalignment, loose hardware, remotes and keypads that need reprogramming. | A yearly tune-up and a smart opener with battery backup are the most useful upgrades. |
Summer heat hardens rubber seals and dries out moving parts, and hail is the main cause of panel damage in the area. See R&Y’s maintenance plans and the guide on what to do when a spring breaks in Pflugerville.

Repaired existing cranky, loose and bent door to a very smooth opening and closing. Replaced older door opener system with a new one in under 40 mins. Has a lot of experience with fixing and repairing garage doors and openers. Excellent to work with!

I called R&Y Garage Doors on a Friday when our garage door and opener suddenly stopped working. Rene came out the exact same day to get us taken care of. He tuned up the door and adjusted the tension, and made sure all of our remotes and the MyQ phone app were fully connected and tested before he left.

I have used R&Y Garage for all of my maintenance and also for my recent purchase of new doors. Rene is excellent and responsive and worked hard putting me together a new door package to my exact specifications. This is the only company I will use now.

How fast can R&Y get to a Pflugerville home?
R&Y is based in Taylor, about 25 to 30 minutes from Pflugerville via SH-130. Most urgent calls, like a broken spring or a door stuck open, are handled the same day, and emergency service is available 24/7.
Can R&Y replace a TorqueMaster spring in Pflugerville?
Yes. R&Y repairs and replaces enclosed TorqueMaster-style spring systems common in 2000s Pflugerville homes, and can convert them to standard torsion springs when parts or the door condition make that the better option.
What does it mean when a garage door cable snaps?
A snapped or frayed cable usually lets one side of the door drop, leaving it crooked or stuck. It often happens together with a broken spring. Stop using the door and call for service, because the remaining cable is under heavy load.
Is it safe to open a garage door with a broken spring?
No. The spring holds most of the door’s weight, so lifting it by hand or with the opener can make it drop suddenly or damage the opener. Leave the door where it is, unplug the opener and call for service.
Does R&Y service commercial garage doors in Pflugerville?
Yes. R&Y repairs, maintains and installs overhead doors for shops, warehouses, offices and other businesses in Pflugerville and the surrounding area.
Are estimates free in Pflugerville?
Yes. R&Y provides free, no-obligation estimates for repairs, opener replacements and new garage doors in Pflugerville. Call (512) 736-7290 to schedule.
