Garage Door Repair
What are the signs my garage door needs repair?
Common signs include loud grinding or squeaking, slow or jerky movement, the door sitting crooked or off its tracks, and a remote or wall switch that stops responding. If you notice any of these, it’s best to call a professional before the problem gets worse.
Is it safe to repair a garage door spring myself?
No. Garage door springs are under extreme tension and can cause serious injury or property damage if handled improperly. Our trained technicians handle spring replacement safely, with the right tools every time.
How quickly can you respond to a repair call?
We offer 24/7 emergency response and same-day appointments for most repairs. Broken springs, doors stuck open, and off-track doors are handled as priority calls.
Do you offer a warranty on repairs?
Yes, our repair work is backed by a workmanship guarantee. Ask your technician for the specific warranty terms that apply to your repair.
New Garage Doors & Replacement
How long does a new garage door installation take?
Most standard residential installations are completed in a few hours. More complex or custom jobs, like nonstandard openings or high-lift track, may take longer.
What garage door material is best for Texas weather?
Insulated steel doors hold up well against Central Texas heat, hail, and humidity swings while keeping your garage more temperature-stable. We’ll walk you through material options based on your home and budget.
Can you install a garage door that matches my home’s style?
Yes. We carry a range of styles, colors, and window options and can help you pick a door that fits your home’s exterior, whether you want a traditional raised-panel look or something more modern.
Do new garage doors come with a warranty?
Yes, new doors come with a manufacturer’s warranty, and our installation work is backed by our own workmanship guarantee.
Garage Door Openers
Do I need a new opener when I install a new door?
Not always. If your current opener is in good working condition and compatible with your new door’s weight and size, it may be reusable. We’ll check compatibility before recommending a replacement.
Can you repair openers from any brand?
Yes, we repair and install all major opener brands, including Wi-Fi-enabled and smart models you can control from your phone. Most opener repairs are completed in a single visit.
My opener works but the app or Wi-Fi connection doesn’t. Can you help?
Yes, smart-hub and app connectivity issues are one of the most common opener calls we get. Our technicians can diagnose whether it’s a hardware, network, or app-side issue.
Emergency Service
What counts as a garage door emergency?
Broken springs, a door stuck open or closed, an off-track door, or anything that leaves your home or vehicle exposed and unsecured. These situations cannot wait, so we offer emergency response any time, day or night.
Do you charge extra for emergency or after-hours calls?
Emergency, after-hours, and extended-distance calls may include an additional trip charge, which we’ll always disclose before dispatching a technician.
What should I do while I wait for a technician?
If it’s safe to do so, keep the area clear, avoid forcing the door open or closed, and use the manual release only if you know how to do so safely. Otherwise, wait for our technician rather than risk injury.
Maintenance Plans
Do I need a maintenance plan if my door works fine?
Most breakdowns give warning signs long before the door actually fails. A yearly inspection catches worn cables, loose hardware, and spring wear while it’s still a small, inexpensive fix instead of an emergency call.
What is not covered by a maintenance plan?
Maintenance plans cover inspection, testing, lubrication, and adjustments. They do not cover replacement parts, major repairs, or damage from accidents or weather. Those are quoted separately, same as any repair.
Can I sign up if R&Y did not install my door?
Yes. We service and maintain garage doors and openers of any brand, whether we installed them or not. See our maintenance plans for details and pricing.
